If you have a v2 license that is activated on a workstation, you can transfer it to another computer by signing into the License Wizard 2.0 to manage your licenses.
Unlike the Return option, transferring is a single step process as the license does not need to be sent back to the server for it to be transferred.
Step 1: Open the Toon Boom Activation/License Wizard
- Open your Toon Boom software, or do one of the following:
- In Windows: On your desktop, use the Windows key and search for “License Wizard”. Click on the result to open the Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard.
- In macOS: Open the Spotlight search by pressing ⌘ + Space. Search for “License Wizard”. Click on the result to open the Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard.
- The Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard will appear:
| Activation Wizard | License Wizard 2.0 |
| NOTE: The appearance of the Window’s version of the wizard may differ, but the steps are exactly the same as those shown above. |
Step 2: Log in to your Toon Boom account on the License Wizard 2.0
- On the Activation page, click on Sign In in the top right corner.
- The Sign In page opens. In the designated fields, enter your E-mail address and Password.
- Click on the Sign In button.
- The Manage Licenses in your Account page will appear:
Step 3: Transfer your license to the workstation
- In the Manage Licenses window, locate the license that you want to transfer and click on the Transfer Here button.
- A dialog will appear to confirm the license has been transferred successfully:
- Your license will now be active on your current workstation and be invalidated on the workstation it was transferred from.

Q&A
Question:
Can I use the transferred license offline?
Answer:
A transferred license is capable of running the Toon Boom software offline for 5 days, after which it will need to reconnect to the server.
Question:
What happens if the license expires after I’ve transferred it?
Answer:
Before the license’s expiration date, the local reactivation process should happen automatically.
If the license has expired, you will be required to reactivate the license on the current workstation to resume using it.
