Since the release of Harmony Premium 25.1, v2 licenses were implemented which allowed for the possibility of remotely returning licenses from another device. Due to the differences between how these licenses are activated on devices that allow the remote return, their activation states are labeled differently in more recent versions of the software.
If you are using Toon Boom software from version 27.1 or up, you may see a license marked as ‘Inactive’ in the License Manager. This article explains the purpose of this and what it means.
For more information about v2 licenses, see About the v2 license.
| NOTE: If you are using version 25 of a Toon Boom software, this may display as a mismatched expiry date between the License Manager and License Wizard. In this case, see Why do I see different expiration dates in the License Wizard 2.0 and the Local License Manager? |
About License Activation in the Local License Manager
Due to a difference in back-end functionality for v2 licenses, the Local License Manager (v27.1 and up) reflects an “Active” or “Inactive” state when viewing available licenses on the system, instead of the license’s expiration date.
| NOTE: This window will only be displayed when using the Manage License Keys window via the License Wizard 2.0, or by opening the ClientActivation executable from within the Harmony installation folder. |
How can I reactivate my license or find my license’s expiration date in the License Wizard 2.0?
An inactive license can be re-activated by signing-in to the Toon Boom ID associated with the license in the License Wizard 2.0.
Upon signing in, each license on the Toon Boom Account is listed under the Manage Licenses in your Account window. The expiration date will also be listed next to the license upon signing-in.
