FAQ: Courseware Technical

Updated on

This document will walk you through some of the most common questions and answers related to the technical aspects of the Toon Boom Animation StartingPoint Courseware. If you are having technical issues, you may find the solution here.

Does Toon Boom offer technical support for the Courseware?

Yes. If you are struggling with any aspect of the courseware, or find errors, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Why is the courseware content not loading properly?

Make sure to check your browser permissions and clear your cache and cookies. Take note that this action will log you out of other sites, so you may need to log in again.

What should I do if I'm experiencing system errors, features not functioning as expected, or access issues?

To ensure the platform operates at full capacity, we recommend whitelisting the following IP addresses:

  • 54.212.38.51
  • 44.242.96.169
  • 44.235.138.0
  • 35.81.127.209

As the platform uses standard communication ports, no additional ports need to be opened on the school's network to maintain full functionality.

What should I do if I get an error message stating "Your connection is not private" when trying to connect to the courseware site?

This error message is not a cause for concern and can be removed by resetting the cookies and site data associated with the ‘courseware.toonboom.com’ domain. This can be done in your browser’s settings.

For best results, we recommend using a search engine to find instructions for your specific browser on how to delete cookies and data related to a specific domain.

My student cannot log in. What should I do?

Reset their password from your Team dashboard and share the new password with them directly. Many school email servers block external emails from the courseware platform, so the login email may not have been delivered. See How do I reset student passwords? for instructions.

I’ve added students, but they do not appear in the courseware. What should I do?

This usually indicates that user groups were not assigned when uploading. Please contact Toon Boom if this happens.

Students received welcome emails, but cannot see the courseware and do not show up in the teacher's dashboard. What should I do?

This usually indicates that user groups were not assigned when uploading. Please contact Toon Boom if this happens.

What should I do if I am having issues adding students?

If any of the following issues occur, this usually indicates that user groups were not assigned when uploading:

  • Students have been added but do not appear in the courseware and do not show up in the teacher's dashboard.
  • Students received welcome emails, but cannot see the courseware.

Please contact Toon Boom if any of these issues occur.

Why do I get a “User already exists” message when I try to add a user?

Either the user was added without a user group, or they were previously registered and need to be reassigned. Please contact Toon Boom if this happens.
