How do I get started with the courseware as a student?

Welcome to the Toon Boom Animation StartingPoint Courseware! This platform will help you learn the basics of 2D animation and/or storyboarding using industry-standard software.

What is the StartingPoint Courseware?

The StartingPoint Courseware is an online learning platform created by Toon Boom Animation. It includes learning modules, assignments, quizzes, videos, and activities designed to help you build practical skills in animation and storyboarding.

The courseware is used by schools and teachers around the world to prepare students for careers in the animation industry.

Step 1: Log into the courseware

1. Go to courseware.toonboom.com.

2. On the login page, enter your username (your email address) and password:
   • Your teacher will provide you with your login credentials. If you did not receive them, ask your teacher.
   • If you are an individual user who purchased courseware access directly from Toon Boom, you will receive your credentials directly from the courseware platform.

3. Click Submit.
4. Once logged in, you will see your personal dashboard. From here, you can:
   • Access your assigned courses
   • View your progress through the modules
   • Complete assignments and quizzes

Step 2: Start a course

1. On your dashboard, click on the course you would like to start: 
   • Intro to Animation with Harmony 
   • Intro to Storyboarding with Storyboard Pro
2. On the main course page, watch the Courseware Navigation video.
3. Scroll down to find a list of lessons. Click on a lesson to begin.
4. Follow the instructions in each lesson. Lessons can include videos, interactive activities, and quizzes.
5. Tips for success:
   • Work through lessons at your own pace — there is no strict order.
   • Read instructions thoroughly and complete all assignments and quizzes as instructed by your teacher. Make sure to submit your task files.
   • If you get stuck, ask your teacher or refer to the resources available on the platform.
   • If you want to earn a certificate of completion, you will need to complete each lesson to 100%.
