How do I return a v2 license?

A License can be manually returned from the machine via the Toon Boom License Wizard. This article will take you through the steps required to manually return your license.

Step 1: Open the Toon Boom Activation/License Wizard

  1. Open your Toon Boom software, or do one of the following:
    • In Windows: On your desktop, use the Windows key and search for “License Wizard”. Click on the result to open the Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard.
    • In macOS: Open the Spotlight search by pressing ⌘ + Space. Search for “License Wizard”. Click on the result to open the Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard.
  2. The Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard will appear:

NOTE: The appearance of the Window’s version of the wizard may differ, but the steps are exactly the same as those shown above.

Step 2: Log into your Toon Boom Account

  1. On the Activation page, click on Sign In in the top right corner.

  1. The Sign In page opens. In the designated fields, enter your E-mail address and Password.

  1. Click on the Sign In button. 
  2. The Manage Licenses in your Account page will appear:

Step 3: Return your license

  1. On the License Management page, locate the license that you want to return and click on the Return button.

  1. A dialog will appear to confirm the license has been returned successfully:

  1. Select OK once you are done.

Why do all my licenses get returned if I sign out from my Toon Boom account?

Answer: 

With the v2 licenses, if you sign out of your Toon Boom account in the License Wizard, all your licenses will automatically be returned to the server. This is part of the reason why the licenses may be transferred from one system to another remotely.

My License was activated on a device that is no longer functional, or was formatted. How can I return my license?

Answer: 

This means that your license will have to be returned manually by the Toon Boom Support team. Please contact Support and provide details of your issue - How do I contact Toon Boom support?
