A Toon Boom product code may be returned from a machine using an alternate method. This is useful in cases where the machine containing the activated product code does not have internet access. Using the License Wizard, a return request may be generated and it can then be sent to the Toon Boom licensing department.
Step 1: Open the Toon Boom Activation/License Wizard
Open your Toon Boom software, or do one of the following:
In Windows: On your desktop, use the Windows key and search for “License Wizard”. Click on the result to open the Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard.
In macOS: Open the Spotlight search by pressing ⌘ + Space. Search for “License Wizard”. Click on the result to open the Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard.
The Toon Boom Activation Wizard/License Wizard will appear:

NOTE: The appearance of the Window’s version of the wizard may differ, but the steps are exactly the same as those shown above.
Step 2: Generate a return request file
At the bottom of the Activation Wizard Welcome screen, click on the Manage Licenses button.
Click on Email Return.
The Email Return screen appears.
On the Email Return screen, click on Email Return Request.
A new screen will appear prompting you to enter a product code. Do the following:
In the Product Code field, enter the product code for the corresponding product.
Click on Generate Return Request to generate the return request.
On the next screen, click on Save Return Request to save the request in a file that can be sent to the Toon Boom licensing department.
A Save dialog window will appear. Browse to the location where the activation file should be saved and click Save.
Your return file will be generated in the chosen location.
Step 3: Send the return request and download the response file
In an email client, write a new email and add the return request to it as an attachment. Then, send the email to licensor@toonboom.com.
The response email will have a file attached. Download the return request file.
If your product is on a different machine than the one used to send and receive the email with the return file, use a removable storage device to move the file to the machine that has the product installed.
NOTE: Responses are sent within one business day. Please allow for enough time to pass before attempting to resend the request.
Step 4: Use the response file to activate the license
Launch the Toon Boom Activation Wizard (see Step 1).
The Activation Wizard will prompt you to follow-up on the email return that was previously started.
Click on Input Response File.
The Complete License Return screen will appear. Click on Select Return File to browse for the return file.
Browse to the location containing the file. Select the responseXML.xml received by email, then click Open. This will take you back to the previous Complete License Return screen.
Click on Return to process the response file and complete your activation.
