It’s easy to set up your project settings in the Welcome Screen, but occasionally you may need to update the properties while you are working on a project. The following steps will show you how to easily update the project properties.
Step 1: Open the Project Properties dialog box
- In the top menu, select Storyboard > Properties...
- The Project Properties dialog box will open:
- Select the tabs at the top to adjust your scene settings. Each tab contains properties related to the following:
- Settings tab: Project titles, start time, field size and chart, 3D scale factor and colour space.
- Project Resolution tab: Screen size, frame rate and field of view.
- Layer Resolution tab: Bitmap layer resolution and vector pixel density.
- Naming tab: Sequence, Scene and Panel naming conventions. Any changes made here will only affect the current project.
- Effects tab: Settings for the Toon Shader that only affect the current project.
- Advanced tab: Compact save file options.
For more information on property specifics, see Project Properties Dialog Box.
- Click OK when done.
Q&A
Question:
I’ve updated the properties, but don’t see any notable difference?
Answers:
- Make sure you have clicked OK to close the Project Properties dialog and save the changes. If you close the window using the x or the cancel button, it will not apply the settings.
- Reopen the Project Properties dialog and double check that the settings you changed have the values you applied and not the default setting values.
Question:
I’d like to use these settings again. Is it possible to create a preset?
Answer:
Only for the Project Resolution tab where you can simply hit the Save button to create a new preset.
