This article outlines the process of license renewal for students that belong to a recognized Toon Boom Centre of Excellence.
Please note that the license you will receive will be a 1-year license, and it will need to be renewed each year throughout the duration of the study programme.
As a COE student, you may renew your Student License in the COE Student Portal, as detailed below.
| NOTE: If you are a teacher, please contact success@toonboom.com to have your profile set to Teacher status. This will prevent you from reaching the program duration limit and you will not have to request an extension every year. |
Step 1: Log in to your Toon Boom account on the COE Student Portal
- Go to the COE Student Portal’s homepage coe.toonboom.com.
- Under section number one, press the Sign in button. You will be directed to the Toon Boom login page.
- In the designated fields, enter your Email address and Password.
- Confirm you are not a robot by ticking the I’m not a robot (reCAPTCHA) box.
- Click the Sign In button. You will be redirected back to the COE Student Portal.
Step 2: Renew your licenses
- At the bottom of the page, click on the Download your software button.
- A page will open indicating the status of your licenses, and the amount of time that you have remaining in the program.
- Click on the Click here to renew them now button in order to renew your license. The page will refresh automatically.
- If you have time remaining on your COE program, you will immediately see software download links available to you, as well as the expiration dates corresponding to your product.

Question 1:
My eligibility to the COE program expired, but I’m still a student. What should I do?
Answer:
If you’ve extended your studies, this means that your status will have to be manually extended by the Toon Boom Support team. Please contact Toon Boom Support and provide details of your circumstances - How do I contact Toon Boom support?.
Question 2:
How do I know if my school is in the Center of Excellence program?
Answer:
Please refer to the Toon Boom Center of Excellence presentation page, which lists the members included in the program.
Question 3:
I am a teacher and my eligibility to the COE Program has expired. What should I do?
Answer:
Please contact our Customer Success team success@toonboom.com and inform them that you are a teacher.
