By default, the art layers in Harmony are designed to keep your artwork separate, which means that you can usually only edit the artwork on the selected layer. However, there are ways to edit more than one art layer at a time. The following instructions will show you how.
Step 1: Choose which view you want to edit in
Depending on where you would prefer to work, you may need to adjust some settings.
- Camera view: The Camera view requires no action as you can see all art layers by default. However, it can get visually busy in the Camera view, in which case you may want to work in the more isolated Drawing view.
-
Drawing view: If you want to edit multiple art layers in the Drawing view, you will have to activate all the art layers to see what you are editing. In the Art Layer toolbar, click on the Preview All Art Layers
button to see all the art layers.
Step 2: Edit the artwork
The following instructions will show you how to edit all art layers that are in a single drawing layer or element.
- In the Timeline view, select the drawing layer/element you want to edit on.
- In the Tools toolbar, select any of the following tools depending on your needs. All tools listed here can be applied to multiple art layers:
- Select
tool (Alt/Option + S)
- Contour Editor
tool (Alt/Option + Q)
- Cutter
tool (Alt/Option + T)
- Centerline Editor
tool (Alt/Option + W)
- Perspective
tool (Alt/Option + 0)
- Envelope
tool
- Eraser
tool (Alt/Option + E)
- Select
- In the Tools Properties view, in the Select Tools section, click on the Apply to Line Art and Colour Art
button. This button will affect all art layers, including Overlay and Underlay (despite what the name might indicate).
- In the Camera view or Drawing view, use the editing tool to manipulate all the art layers. If you are using the Select
tool, you will also be able to adjust things like pencil line thickness and texture.
WARNING: Don’t forget to deactivate the Apply to Line Art and Colour Art button when you are done to prevent any accidental edits to all art layers. |
