How do I get started with the Beta of Toon Boom Ember on macOS?

If you have a Toon Boom Account, you can sign up for the Beta of Toon Boom Ember via the Toon Boom store by following the steps below. Please note that terms and conditions apply when using the Ember Beta, and you will be notified with an agreement document during this process.

Step 1: Log in to your Toon Boom account on the store page

If you are already logged in, skip to the next step.

1. Go to the Toon Boom Store.
2. In the header, click the Sign In button to go to the login page.

3. In the designated fields, enter your E-mail address and Password.
4. Confirm you are not a robot by ticking the I’m not a robot (reCAPTCHA) box.
5. Click the Sign In button. You will be redirected back to the Toon Boom Store.

Step 2: Sign up for the Toon Boom Ember Beta in the store

1. Go to the Toon Boom Ember Beta section of the shop by clicking on this link. The following screen appears:

2. Scroll down and click on the Read Terms and Conditions button.

3. Make sure to read the terms and conditions carefully. If you agree to the terms, click on the agreement button at the bottom left of the pop-up window:

4. Once you have agreed to the terms and conditions, move onto the next step to download the software. 

Step 3: Download and install the Beta 25 software on macOS

1. Choose either Storyboard Pro 25 or Harmony 25, and click on the corresponding Download for macOS button.

2. Once your download has been completed, double click on the downloaded .dmg file to start the installation process.
3. The End-User License Agreement opens in a new window. When you’re ready to proceed, press the Agree button.

4. The installation window opens. Drag and drop the Toon Boom Harmony 25/Storyboard Pro 25 folder icon to the Applications folder.

5. The software will install to your Applications folder.

Step 4: Activate your Beta License 

1. Open Storyboard Pro 25 or Harmony 25 via the Launchpad, or by using the Spotlight search. Wait for the application verification to complete.
2. A window appears indicating that the software is an app downloaded from the internet. Press Open to continue.

3. The Toon Boom Activation Wizard will open. Click on the Activate Now button.

4. In the Email field, enter the Toon Boom ID that you used earlier to sign up for the Toon Boom Ember Beta.
5. In the Password field, enter your password.
6. Click the Sign In button when done.

7. A window displaying your product licenses will appear. Click on Activate next to your Storyboard Pro 25 or Harmony 25 Premium license.

8. A pop up window will open displaying the status of your license activation. You can click on Start Harmony Premium/Storyboard Pro to launch the software, or click OK to conclude the license activation.
