About moving frames
When moving frames or keyframes on the timeline, keep the following in mind:
- Moving frames when the timeline is closed will move all aligned keyframes and frames in the hierarchy.
- The first click creates the selection, the second click initiates the movement.
- A selection of frames are always blue, but when frames are moved they are dark yellow.

Step 1: Select and move the frames/keyframes
- Make sure the timeline is opened or closed based on the frames you need to move.
- In the Timeline view, select frames by doing one of the following:
- Click and drag a selection over the frames.
- Click the first frame in the selection, then hold Shift and select the last frame (or vice versa).
- Release the mouse click.
- Hover over the selection then click and hold the mouse as you drag the frames into their new position.
- If you want to select multiple frames over multiple layers, do one of the following:
- Click and drag a selection over the frames and layers.
- Click the first frame in the selection on one layer, then hold Shift and select the last frame on another layer (or vice versa).
| TIP: If you are moving a single frame/keyframe, select it by clicking it once first. Then click and drag it to move it. |
| NOTE: Simply clicking and dragging a frame without selecting it first will just create a selection. Always make a selection first, then click and drag to move it. |
