How do I fill in gaps between my drawing frames?

Posted on

Option 1: Use Fill Empty Cells for multiple gaps

If you have multiple gaps in your timeline that you’d like to fill, using this option is the fastest way to do it.

  1. In the Timeline or Xsheet view, select the range of frames that contain the gaps you want to fill.
  2. Activate the Fill Empty Cells command by doing one of the following:
    • In the Timeline or Xsheet view, right-click and select Exposure > Fill Empty Cells.
    • In the top menu, select Animation > Cell > Fill Empty Cells.
    • In the Timeline View toolbar, click the Fill Empty Cells  button.
  3. The gaps will be filled by extending the previous drawing.

Option 2: Extend the exposure of a single drawing

If you need to fill one gap, or isolated gaps, extending a specific drawing may work better.

  1. In the Timeline or Xsheet view, select the frame in the gap that you want the previous drawing to extend to.

  1. Extend the exposure by doing one of the following:
    • Use the hotkey F5.
    • In the Timeline view, right-click and select Extend Exposure.
    • In the Timeline View menu, select Exposure > Extend Exposure.
  2. The previous drawing will be extended to the selected empty frame.
