What is Ember?
Ember is an optional, AI powered add-on that is packaged with versions 24.1 & 25 of Harmony Premium and Storyboard Pro. It was developed in collaboration with AI providers such as Bria, Gemini and Eleven Labs.

What does Ember do?
When activated, Ember offers the following AI features in Harmony:
- AI Masking
- Image expansion
- Increase of Image Resolution
- Increase of Image Texture Resolution
- Increase of Texture Resolution
Do I have to use Ember if I purchase a Harmony license?
No. Ember can easily be activated and deactivated. It is left up to the user if they would like to activate Ember, and they must agree to the related terms and conditions.
How do I activate/deactivate Ember?
The Enable Ember Functionalities option is located in the Advanced tab of the Preferences window. After enabling/disabling Ember, you will be required to relaunch the software.
| NOTE: By default, Ember is automatically disabled in Harmony Premium 25, and enabled in Harmony Premium 24.1. |
| NOTE: If you are an educator teaching Toon Boom software in a school environment, please contact your Account Manager to activate Ember. Take note that Ember cannot currently be activated on student licenses. |
What is Toon Boom’s policy on Ember’s learning model?
Toon Boom is consistently doing exhaustive research to ensure that we adhere to existing ethical and privacy policies, for us and for our service providers. The goal with Ember is to optimize the jobs of artists, not to replace the artists themselves.
