Harmony has a multitude of prepackaged scripts available for use. Some productions also create custom scripts that might need to be installed. The following directions will show you can add and manage scripts.
If you’d like to import an external script, see How do I import an external script? for more information.
Step 1: Add the Scripting toolbar
To access the scripts, we need to add the Scripting toolbar.
- Do one of the following:
- From the top menu, select Windows > Toolbars > Scripting.
- On any toolbar, right-click and select Scripting.

Step 3: Customizing script icons
Some scripts have a unique icon, but most will default to a nondescript gear . You can customize these icons to make it easier to find the function you need.
- Open the Script Manager dialog box.
- In the In Toolbar or Functions list, select the script you want to customize.
- Under the Files list, select the Customize Icon button.
- Locate the image of the new icon, and click OK. The icon can be any of the following file types:
- .png
- .jpg
- .xpm
- .tvg
- A preview of the new icon will appear in the In Toolbar or Functions list, as well as in the Scripting toolbar.
Step 4: Customizing script tooltips
When hovering over a script in the Scripting toolbar, it will often just show the name of the script. You can update this hover information to a description that will give you specific information.
- In the Script Manager dialog box.
- In the In Toolbar or Functions list, select the script you want to customize.
- Under the Files list, select the Customize Tooltip button.
- The Function Tooltip window opens:
- Enter the new description for the script’s tooltip and press OK.
- The script will now show the new tooltip when hovering over it in the Scripting toolbar.
Step 5: Removing scripts from the Scripting toolbar
- In the Script Manager dialog box, select the script you want to remove in the In Toolbar list.
- Between the Functions and In Toolbar list will be a white arrow facing left. Click on the white arrow.
- The script will no longer be listed in the In Toolbar list, nor will it be visible on the Scripting toolbar.
