This article covers some of the most frequently asked questions about Toon Boom Training offers.
Where can I see the upcoming online classes?
To see the current online classes on offer, please visit the Toon Boom online classes website.
Are classes/courses instructor-led?
Yes. Each session is an interactive session with an instructor. The instructor will explain each concept and guide hands-on activities. The instructor will share their camera and screen for you to follow along. You have the ability to share your screen with the class for questions and troubleshooting.
Do I need a webcam?
It creates a more interactive atmosphere when the instructor and attendees can see each other, but you are not required to share your camera if you prefer not to, or do not have one.
I did not receive the detailed information for my course. What can I do?
Please check your Spam folder or Junk mail to make sure the email has not been filtered out or blocked. If you cannot find the email, please reach out to training@toonboom.com.
What do I have to do prior to the first session?
1 week prior to your first class, make sure you have:
- downloaded the material and unzipped the packages,
- downloaded and installed your Toon Boom product,
- activated your Toon Boom product license,
- and tested the Zoom platform.
Where do I find the links to the video recordings and the information to connect to my sessions?
You will find the link to the session in the calendar invitation, as well as in the detailed email that you will receive a few days prior to the start of the first class. The instructor will send you the recordings link/s via email within 24 hours of each session.
Recordings are for review purposes only and cannot be reshared or used for commercial purposes.
| WARNING: Recordings will automatically be deleted 30 days after the corresponding session. It is recommended that you download the videos before then to avoid disappointment. |
What happens if I cannot attend a session or the teacher is sick?
If you cannot attend a session, you will be able to review the recording of the missed class. It is highly recommended to do the exercises covered in the class. In the unfortunate event that a teacher would be sick and cannot attend the class, the session will be rescheduled, but it will not be cancelled. If a teacher cannot complete the course, a substitute instructor will continue the sessions.
What do I receive at the end of my course?
You will receive a badge based on the course you finished. If you need an official attestation, please contact training@toonboom.com and we will be happy to provide you with one.
| NOTE: A badge/attestation is not equivalent to a Toon Boom Certification. If you are interested in the Associate or Professional Toon Boom Certification, it will need to be purchased separately. |
Can I use the assets I worked on during the training in my portfolio?
Yes. You can use the assets in your portfolio as long as Toon Boom Animation inc. is credited. It should not be made to look as if you created the assets from scratch or that you own any part of the IP. The assets may not be used for commercial purposes or reused in other classes.
